100 Days Till Summer

Hi There,

My name is Francine Sanchez.

I am the wife of Oscar Sanchez, of Mind Over Matter Strength and Conditioning. A little bit over a week ago, I started the 100 Days Till Summer Challenge. My husband had the idea to film me for his youtube channel. I was nervous, but committed.

My biggest fear was that I would not follow through to the end, but would still embarrass myself by posting "before" pictures, videos, etc. Well, as we got closer to the start line and we are both swamped with work, and me with school too... the project changed a bit. It became clear that this was about me more than good old hubby. If I want to do this, I HAVE to follow through.

Well, I'm doing it. Today is DAY 87.

My Goals: a) Lose 1lb Every 10 Days b)To Get Fit, Confident and Healthy

When it comes time to wear a swimsuit this year, I want to feel good about myself.

What I've done so far.

Weight Tracker
Day 100 - Weight 142
Day 95 - Weight 142
Day 89 - Weight 140.5

Exercise Tracker
Day 100 - 30 Minute Workout with Oscar (arms, legs, core)
Day 99 - 30 Minute Track Workout (est. 2 miles run/walk, core)
Day 98 - legs, core, shoulder (from videos)
Day 97 - n/a
Day 98 - Stretching
Day 96 - n/a
Day 95 - n/a
Day 94 - 45 Minute Spinning
Day 93 - 1 hr Spinning
Day 92 - 1 hr Spinning
Day 91 - n/a
Day 90 - n/a
Day 89 - n/a
Day 88 - 1 hr spinning

My goal is realistic, 1lb every 10 days and allows for the many on/off days that I've already have. The days that I spin, I tend to eat healthier. The whole first week, I ate horribly! I love green smoothies and they help tremendously but am attempting my challenge at a time when work and school is extremely difficult.

Looking at my workouts, I realize how much I need to get some more weight workouts in.

My Story: I am an ex-athlete. My dad is a naturally skinny person and I am naturally thin as well. Luckily, I have never had major weight problems. That being said, I am currently unhealthy and haven't felt continually good about my body for a long while. Normally, I weigh around 130. Somewhere in the past 5 or 6 months, I jumped to 142. That is about 10-15 pounds over my optimal weight. I understand that muscle weighs more than fat and weight is not the most important thing. However, I also know that flab is the reason why I am 142 and I expect to go down in weight before adding back on.

My Inspiration: Biggest Loser (I enjoy that show and am watching it on Netflix)

My Strategy: Healthy eating, cardio and weight training

What I've Changed so Far:
1) We are paying a friend to make us dinner 4 nights a week (we were eating out because of school craziness).
2) I paid for monthly membership to a local spinning club and am going 3-4 times a week (I would love to go every day, it's actually really fun).
3) I'm starting off my day with a healthy breakfast - green smoothie and protein.

And that's it for now!

It's great that you are setting realistic goals for yourself!
Time and time again I see people being way too unrealistic and just setting themselves up for failure.
Also, having good motivation like an athletic husband definitely is an advantage too!

You can do this!

Thanks tumblestone. I'm glad I am in a situation where my husband is enthusiastic about me getting healthy.

Hubby is a good example for me, but I have to remember he can't do it for me. Though my mother and I often wish his cardio could take off our pounds. :)

I love working out, but haven't been very good about it lately. In the beginning of this pregnancy, I was just exhausted! Now I'm able to go and my daughter has been so sick I couldn't take her to the gym. I need to get motivated again!

Hubby has a certification in pre/postnatal exercises. If he does a video on a related subject, I'll send it over. I'm not even pregnant and find it difficult to get motivated. You can do it though!!
